Learn Spanish with Luis y Sofía is a story-based scheme for teaching Spanish in primary schools.
Written entirely in Spanish these original, fun stories use repetitive phrases and simple sentences to embed vocabulary and language structures making them ideal for Spanish beginners.
With engaging, full colour pictures and simple language on every page, these books can be read to, by and with children of any age.
Children with early Spanish language skills will gain confidence, and develop their language skills, when they realise they are able to read and understand a storybook in Spanish.
A picture to colour and talk about on the last page of each book will help to develop all four language learning skills – reading, writing, speaking and listening.
These books are accompanied by audio files and by powerpoint presentations which can be used on smart boards:-
There is a powerpoint version of each book – the words are spoken in Spanish when the speech bubbles are clicked. There is also a dictionary at the end of the presentation. Again, if the word is clicked it is pronounced in Spanish. These presentations are available on the DVD-rom which accompanies the books. There are also exercises which can be used on smart boards. There are many different types of Smart board in schools. We have developed powerpoint exercises which can be used on any type of smart board.
